Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has reportedly instructed the club to sign a new center-forward to replace Karim Benzema at Santiago Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema recently moved to Al-Ittihad, leaving Real Madrid without a reliable number 9.

Marco Asensio, who often served as Benzema’s backup, is also expected to leave the club as a free agent.

According to a report by El Nacional – an online newspaper based in Spain, Real Madrid has is targeting targeted two strikers, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Chelsea’s Kai Havertz.

Perez and Manager Carlo Ancelotti are reported to prefer Kane over Havertz though Kane’s signing is said to be difficult to achieve because of Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy who believes that Real Madrid’s interest in Havertz is a strategy to reduce the price of the England captain.
