The Nigeria Computer Society has rewarded the student of Platform Schools, Ipaja, Lagos,  Excel Chukwuemeke with a brand new HP laptop and a cash prize of N500,000.

Chukwuemeke emerged first position at the grand finale of the 2023 National Information Technology Whizkids Competition.

He was presented the special award by the wife of the Governor of Bauchi State, Dr Aishatu Mohammed at closing banquet of the 2023 International Conference of Nigeria Computer Society.

Likewise, the ICT teacher was given a sum of N50,000.

A letter written to the school, signed by Executive Secretary, NCS, Mr Segun Adekunle, and made available to The PUNCH read, “Greetings from NCS, the umbrella body for all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders.

“We are pleased to inform you that your Student Excel Chukwuemeke emerged first position at the grand finale of the 2023 National Information Technology Whizkids Competition.

“The intellectual prowess of Excel Chukwuemeke indicates the level of excellence being impacted in your students and we encourage you and your Computer Science Teachers to keep it up.

“We appreciate your participation and encourage your future participation as the competition is an annual event organised by Nigeria Computer Society.”

Proprietor, Platform Schools  Dr Bola Obe, who was elated at the success of his student explained that the secret of the success was hard work and commitment to providing world-class educational standards in all areas of education including IT.

He advised parents and school owners, saying “They must encourage their wards or students to take IT very seriously. No one can survive in the 21st century without IT hence, they need the knowledge now and in the future.”
