The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kolawole Fagbohun, has charged civil servants in the state to be professional in the discharge of their duties.

He stated this while receiving the executive members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Ogun State Branch led by its branch Chairman, Sean Badiru, in his office in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Fagbohun said, “Workers should be at best in their various duty posts and work assiduously to forestall wastage and leakages of government’s revenue, to enable it to have enough resources to cater for people’s needs.”

He called for continuous support for the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

The Head of Service noted that the current administration was workers’ friendly, emphasising that the State government had been promoting professionalism, training, and retraining of workers as evident in the number of seminars, capacity building, and workshops organised for all the cadres of civil servants in recent time.

“We need to pay back as Ogun State workers for the good gesture of government by being at best in our duty posts and working assiduously against wastage and leakages, for the government to have enough resources to take care of our professional interests,” Fagbohun added.

Earlier the Ogun State CIPM chairman appreciated the government for embracing personnel management as a cadre in the state civil service.

He lauded it for the unalloyed support given to the institute and its members in the scheme of things, soliciting for a parcel of land to build the association’s state secretariat.
