Serie A side AC Milan are reportedly set to launch a fresh bid for a midfielder of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka after a failed attempt to sign him from Aston Villa in 2022.
Born to an Igbo father, Chukwuemeka agreed to a six-year contract to join Chelsea but has struggled to gain regular playing time and made only 14 Premier League appearances for the Blues last season.
According to reports by Calciomercato, Rossoneri’s €15m offer for Chukwuemeka was rejected by Villa, before Chelsae took advantage and signed the youngster for €24m in the last summer window.
The Rossoneri are now launching a fresh offer as club CEO Giorgio Furlani will look to make a move for Chukwuemeka next week, keen to add the talented midfielder to Stefano Pioli’s squad.
Calciomercato stated Carney Chukwuemeka is considered one of the best talents in English football, he combines great technique with an excellent physical structure.
“They like him because he is a versatile player capable of playing in multiple roles in midfield.”
“Carney and Milan touched already in the summer of 2022 when Massara and Maldini presented a €15m offer to Aston Villa.
“In the end, Chelsea reached €24m by beating the competition from the Rossoneri.
“Now Moncada has returned to office for Chukwuemeka with a good chance of success.
“At the beginning of next week, Furlani will start the mission to give Chukwuemeka to Pioli. The negotiation can be concluded on loan with the right to buy back.”
