Italian giants AC Milan have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze, as they continue their pursuit of the Villarreal forward, PUNCH Sports Extra report.
The Rossoneri completed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea on Friday and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they are eager to add the winger to their ranks.
Milan have been interested in signing the 24-year-old for a little while now but face competitions from Real Madrid, Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The Yellow Submarines have set a €40m price tag on Chukwueze but are willing to listen to offers for the Nigerian, who has a year left on his running contract.
However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red and Blacks have reached an agreement in principle with the Nigerian with only the payment plan to be sorted out with Villarreal.
“Milan took four yeses, like at talent shows, plus one. Christian Pulisic, Yunus Musah, Tijjani Reijnders, Samuel Chukwueze: four goals shook a very virtual hand with Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has already signed. Everyone wants Milan, everyone has an agreement in principle to move to Milan.
“After reaching an agreement with the players, the Rossoneri will begin negotiations with the clubs. Milan now have to deal with Chelsea, Valencia, Az and Villarreal… and it won’t be easy.”
However, the Yellow Submarine will only sanction Chukwueze’s departure from Estadi de la Ceràmica if the demand of at least €25 million plus bonuses is met.
Chukwueze has had a remarkable season under the guidance of Villarreal coach Quique Setién, scoring an impressive 13 goals and providing 11 assists.
