Olympic gold medallist and former Super Eagles midfielder, Garba Lawal, has applauded Eunisell for initiating the Eunisell Boot award for the highest goals scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Eunisell has been celebrating outstanding performers in the domestic topflight since 2018, to instil greatness in players and create awareness for the NPFL.

Enyimba forward, Chukwuemeka Obioma, scored 16 goals last season to become the latest recipient of the prestigious and highly coveted Eunisell Boot.

“The Eunisell Boot award has made the NPFL more interesting. The benefits will push attacking midfielders and strikers to focus more on goals scoring.

“It is a fantastic initiative that will lead to the improvement of the League.

“I saw the decoration of Chijioke Akuneto, who won the 2021/22 Eunisell Boot Award and it was marvelous,” Lawal, who played in the domestic league for Julius Berger before moving abroad, said.

Eunisell placed a premium value of N200,000 on each goal scored by Obioma, who will receive N3.2m and the Eunisell Boot replica.

Obioma becomes the first Enyimba player to win the prestigious award and the eighth in the NPFL to be associated with the iconic gong.
