Former boxer Anthony Ogogo believes Tyson Fury must take on Anthony Joshua rather than Oleksandr Usyk as it would be a far better fight to watch for fans.
Fury recently claimed on Instagram that he had sent a draft contract to Joshua’s camp to secure a potential fight between the two heavyweights following a failed attempt towards the end of last year.
The WBC heavyweight champion called out Joshua last year for failing to sign a contract before a September deadline and ended up fighting Derek Chisora instead last December.
Fury hasn’t fought again since – after negotiations for a heavyweight unification bout against Usyk collapsed earlier this year – while Joshua hasn’t boxed since beating Jermaine Franklin in April.
Asked if we’ll ever see Fury vs Usyk, Ogogo told talkSPORT at the Everything in Sport Women’s Edition conference, “We should. I don’t think that’s going to be a great fight because I think it’s an awkward fight.”
