A budding actress, content creator and brand influencer, Anthonia Ikekhua, aka Aji Anje, has said some fans don’t seem to realize how hurtful they can be with their social media comments.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “I think people don’t understand how deep and painful their comments on social media could be. I have had some bad experiences, but I had to ignore and put up with those comments, and act like they don’t matter. I endured for a long time, but after a while, I spoke to myself that they did not create me, and their words are just a reflection of how they feel or what they understand. Sometimes, it’s their reactions to their misunderstanding of my contents and I would feel somehow, but now, I know better.”
Anje, who studied Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, however noted that social media had also been of tremendous help to her career. She added, “Social Media has also been empowering for me. All my gigs came from what I was able to showcase on social media. Being able to create content that is relatable enough to sell a brand or memory through social media has helped me move from just acting in church or in front of my friends, to an audience of millions of people across the world.”
The actress added that she had dreams of establishing her own production houise someday. This is even as she has featured in films, such as ‘Beti’, ‘Obara’M’ and ‘The Stand Up’.
