A student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, Oluwakorede Olubitan, has won the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources Youth Video Competition.

A statement by the school said the competition held in commemoration of the World Environmental Day 2023, witnessed an impressive display of talents, creativity, and environmental awareness by students from various top-notch schools across the state.

It read, “The World Environmental Day Youth Video Competition, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, aims to inspire and engage the younger generation in critical discourse on environmental conservation.

“Participants were tasked with creating compelling videos that shed light on pressing environmental issues and proposed innovative solutions.”

 It read further, “Her winning video creatively addressed the theme of this year’s competition, ‘Restoring Our Earth.’ Her captivating visuals, powerful storytelling, and well-researched content struck a chord with the judges and showcased her deep understanding of the challenges faced by our environment today.

“The video emphasised the urgency of environmental action and proposed actionable steps that can be taken at an individual and community level to make a tangible difference.”
