Notable celebrities defied the downpour last weekend to attend the launch of a new alcoholic bitters drink, D’General, at The Wings, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The brand also unveiled its celebrity ambassadors, including Davido, Phyno, Sola Sobowale, Chidi Mokeme, Destiny Etiko, Mr Macaroni, Seun Kuti, Kcee, Sabinus, Zlatan, Asake, Brain Jotter and Nasboi.
Speaking at the event, the General Manager of Craft Method Limited, manufacturers of the drink, Emeka Ushi, stated that the drink was a result of extensive research, adding that the company engaged different consumers of bitters across the country in order to produce a perfect drink.
He added, “The product is 100 per cent made from natural extracts. It is not like other brands that are flavoured. It is a product borne out of consumer engagement. After discovering that none of the available drinks have all what the consumers want, we went into in-depth research that gave birth to what we are unveiling today.”
A socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, expressed joy at being a part of the ‘exceptional and super cool’ brand. He said, “It is something I was so excited about, because I’ve had a feel of the drink. Aside from being the ambassador of the drink, I also sell liquor, so I know the difference between this product and others. That is why I decided to jump on it with all my whole heart.”
Ace singer, D’Banj also thrilled the audience with some of his hit songs at the event which was anchored by a popular broadcaster and host, Frank Edoho.
